怎么说第一次读The Sorcerers，从一个基础发展这一个国家，确实让我感受到了震撼，我以为虽然这是理想过，但我们并不能把理想当成所谓的理想还是应该把它化作一种目标，去尽力实现，波利斯·卡洛夫笔下的The Sorcerers的完美是我很难想象的恐怕孔子的大同社会也要稍有些逊色吧！

读过这么多年历史文，此剧真是最符合我口味的，逻辑缜密，文笔流畅不拖沓。

Just finished the book, be honest, do not like the novel that much. Except some passages about meaning of life were beautifully written, the whole story does not appeal to me. One can hardly understand his love to M, maybe it could only happen to deformed people, but the whole thing makes me feel it was so distorted. The only other novel by Maugham which I have read is “the razor’s edge”, but that is long time ago, I enjoyed then, not sure what I will feel if I read now.
